Don’t Let Errors on Your Credit Report Stop You from Buying the Home Which You Deserve

By Jason Boone

BEND – Now is a great time to buy a Bend Oregon Home because, mortgage interest rates still continue to remain low and housing inventory is increasing but before you start your home search you should make sure that you review your credit score.

It’s important to review your credit report now because, there could be errors on it which could make it harder for you to qualify for a mortgage loan and buy the home you deserve.

How to Get Your Credit Report

Thanks to the Internet it’s easier than ever before to get a copy of your credit report.

All you have to do is go to Google or your favorite search engine and type in “3-in-1 credit report” because, this will enable you to get a credit report from 3 of the major credit bureaus (Equifax, Transunion and Experian) all for one price.

How to Challenge Errors on Your Credit Report

If you find that your credit report has errors, and is reporting that you purchased or did things that you are not responsible for, you can challenge those errors by writing each credit bureau individually and following their procedures to have inaccurate items report so you can boost your credit score.

What Can Hurt Your Credit Score

Let’s say that you pulled your credit report and are happy because your credit score is excellent.

One thing you do not want to do is make any large purchases, change your job or do anything that could potentially hurt or change your credit score because, changes to your credit score could mean that you will no longer be pre-qualified for the mortgage loan amount that you once were pre-qualified for.

In today’s world lenders want to make sure that you have the ability to repay your mortgage loan and it’s important to keep your debt-to-income ratio low during the process of purchasing a home.
