Pacific Crest Sports Festival

By Jason Boone

Summer is officially here in Central Oregon and with warm weather predicted in the coming days staying cool will be on the minds of many people including this weekend for the upcoming Pacific Crest Sports Festival in Sunriver.

Getting Ready For the Heat

With temperatures expected to reach the mid 90’s this weekend, and possible thunderstorms, organizers of the Pacific Crest Sports Festival are going to move the start time for this event to 8:00 am on Saturday in the hopes that this will help competitors avoid most of the midday heat.

19th Year of Festival

If you’ve lived in Bend for a while you know that the Pacific Crest Sports Festival is something to look forward to every year.

This festival officially enters its 19th year and Sunriver is going to be ready for competitors who come to participate in the Ducathlon and Triathlon.

The National Weather Service predicts that we’re going to see temperatures as high as 98 degrees on Friday, then only 92 degrees on Saturday and Sunday so if you plan on competing at either event, or you plan on coming to watch make sure you stay hydrated and use sunscreen.
