Bathroom Renovation

By Jason Boone

Ah the bathroom, it’s one of the rooms in your home where you spend the most time, but the question is have you spent enough money there to help increase the resale value of your home?

If your bathroom has been like your well-used old car during the last few years, here are three things you can do to improve your bathroom, and help to increase the resale value of your home, especially if you plan on selling your home during 2015.

Tip #1 – Use Feature Floor Tiles

Instead of using bland white floor tiles in your bathroom, choose feature floor tiles.

This design tip will help your bathroom floor to “pop”, or stand out, and feature floor tiles can add a refreshing design element to a bathroom especially if there isn’t any wall space for hanging artwork or other decorative wall art.

Tip #2 – Choose Earth Natural Looking Materials

Is your bathroom still stuck in the 1980’s with the gold sinks and pink bathtub?

Buyers in 2015 want bathrooms which have natural design elements like wood, stone and other “earthy” materials which make a bathroom feel more serene and relaxing.

Tip #3 – Add Some Plants to Your Bathroom

Last of all, but most important, another important design element to consider adding to your bathroom this year is plants.

Consider installing hanging plants, potted plants or a “vertical garden” on one of the walls in your bathroom to add a natural element and help create a more relaxing space that buyers will love.
