BEND, Ore – One of the things that I love about living in Bend is that we have plenty of sports and recreational activities which you can enjoy including: skiing, mountain biking and hiking but what about Frisbee Golf Bend Oregon?

More than Just a Fad

Have you tried Frisbee Golf yet?

Although it’s been looked at as a fad over the years by athletes and competitive people across Central Oregon, Frisbee Golf Bend Oregon is quickly turning into a sport that everyone from small children to adults can enjoy.

From Wikipedia:

Disc golf, also known as Frolf, Folf, Frisbee disc or Frisbee golf, is a flying disc game, as well as a precision and accuracy sport, in which individual players throw a flying disc at a target. According to Paul Ince of the Professional Disc Golf Association, “the object of the game is to traverse a course from beginning to end in the fewest number of throws of the disc. In just 8 years (2000-2008), the number of disc golf courses doubled. The game is played in about 40 countries around the world.

What’s challenging about disc golf is that you’re not just hitting a ball into a hole, you have to throw the Frisbee into the target, and that’s not always easy to do considering the fact that wind can easily change the destination of the Frisbee at a moment’s notice and make your game much harder.

Disc Go Ball

Over the weekend Bend welcomed athletes and competitors from all over the United States to compete in the “Disc Go Ball” Frisbee Golf competition at Pine Nursery Park.

200 people entered the Disc Go Ball tournament, and the day was competitive thanks to the wind, but that didn’t stop the competitors from participating in this event since Pine Nursery Park goes out of their way each year to hold an event that’s both competitive and fun at the same time.
