BEND Ore. – Thanks to the booming economy there’s been a greater demand on local breweries than ever before, especially for companies like Silver Moon, the iconic Central Oregon Brewery who is expanding their operations to a new facility in Redmond to keep up with demand here in Central Oregon and across Washington.

Everyone Is Thinking About Expansion

With the expansion of Deschutes Brewery most breweries in Bend and across Central Oregon are thinking about growth or expanding their operations, especially on the East Coast.

In a recent interview with the Source Weekly Deschutes Brewery President Michael LaLonde confirmed that his company is searching for locations in other states including Texas, Minnesota, Tennessee and South Carolina but the biggest thing he wants to find in an East Coast city before relocating there is an environment that’s similar to Bend’s.

LaLonde hopes that if he finds a town with a similar culture like Bend’s, some of his employees here would be open to relocating to the East Coast especially if that town has a similar craft-brew density and recreational opportunities like Bend’s.
