BEND, Ore. – Although Bend’s population isn’t projected to hit 100,000 for another 10 years, you would think we’ve already hit that “magic number” already when you count all of the hotel guests, visitors and people who own vacation homes in the Bend area.

Thanks to a recent report from the Bend Bulletin we know that between 2012 and 2013 Bend averaged about 18,000 visitors every day, and as of 2013 our full time population was estimated to be around 81,236.

Tourism Industry Strong

One of the strongest industries in Oregon and especially Bend is tourism.

The tourism industry here has had four straight summers of record growth, and with another great summer lining up in Bend, including some great shows at the Les Schwab Amphitheater, we can expect 2015 to be another great year for tourism in Bend Oregon.

85 Percent of General Fund Spent On Emergency Services

Did you know that up to 85 percent of Bend Oregon’s general fund is spent on emergency services each year?

The demand for emergency services typically increases during the summer months when more people call Bend home, but thanks to the transient room tax Bend has revenue to help pay for emergency services.
