If you’re a Bend Oregon homeowner, and are getting ready to sell your home, this is one of the most exciting times of life since you’re transitioning from one space to another.

Although there’s a lot of excitement right now, it’s important to take a step back and make sure you follow these 6 repair tips to insure that you get the most money for your home.

Tip 1 – Fix Those Leaky Toilets

Besides wasting money, leaky toilets are also problems when trying to sell a home and should be replaced since they can cause water damage and make a home buyer wonder what else may be wrong with your home.

Tip 2 – Repair Holes in Drywall

Accidents happen and sometimes they include a family member or friend creating holes in your drywall. When these holes happen it’s best to use a sheet of drywall to create a flush patch rather than using a rough patch job to cover the hole.

Tip 3 – Change Cabinet Doors

After a few years it’s best to go through your home and remove or change cabinet doors which might not close on their own or have sustained some damage over the years.

Tip 4 – Open Stuck Windows

Take the time to go through your home and open any stuck windows, especially if they have been painted over during your last paint job in the home.

Tip 5 – Stop Leaking Faucets

Did you know that leaky faucets can waste up to 5 gallons of water per day?

Even though you’re buying a new home it’s best to repair them and replace if they are old and dated.

Tip 6 – Turn Your Main Water Line Off And On

Last of all, but most important, take the time to turn your main water line off and on. This will help you to confirm that the valve for your water line is 100% functional and insure that a buyer won’t try to ask for a discount or credit saying that it needs repair.
