checklist-4

By Jason Boone

BEND – You just accomplished your goal of buying your first Bend Oregon Home but, before you move in there are 3 things you can do to insure that your home is ready for you to move in.

#1 – Change the Locks

Although most homeowners will tell you that they’ve handed you the keys after you purchase a property it’s best to change the locks anyway because it’s so easy to make copies of keys over the years and you will never know who else may have a key to your home unless you change all of the locks after you move in.

#2 – Find the Circuit Breaker and Main Water Valve

Your circuit breaker and main water valve are two important areas of your home because, one day you may need to know where they are at a moment’s notice so it’s better to familiarize yourself now with their locations once you move into your home.

#3 – Wipe Out Your Cabinets

Yes, this tip is a “no brainer” but many buyers will often forget to do this.

You will want to wipe out your cabinets before moving into your home because its best to insure that your plates and personal bathroom items have clean/sanitary places to sit and you also want to confirm that your home doesn’t have any rodent problems either.

If your home does have rodent problems you should call an exterminator first to have this problem resolved before you move in.
